About Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry

Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry was originated by a gift from Queen Victoria for Princess Liliuokalani in 1880. It was a solid gold bracelet with the Princess' name engraved and enameled on it. Among the very early examples of Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry were Queen Emma's silver bracelet engraved "Aloha ia ka heiheimalie". The bracelet was Victorian in design and style, yet deeply Hawaiian in wording and phrase to reflect their ancestorial heritage. Since then, the people of Hawaii have adopted this style of jewelry and passed it on from generation to generation.

At our Hawaiian heirloom jewelry factory here in Honolulu each piece of Hawaiian jewelry is hand carved by a master craftsman cutting out beautiful Hawaiian flower designs into rings, pendants and bracelets. The hand engraving is very delicate and time consuming. It can take up to 2 hour to engrave just one ring. Our Hawaiian jewelry engravers work with sterling silver, 14k yellow gold, 14k rose/pink gold and 14k white gold. The designs we cut into each piece of Hawaiian jewelry are Hawaiian plumeria flowers, Maile leaf, and traditional Hawaiian scroll designs.
